"The story I have been told about the tankards is my grandmother's brother (both deceased) was based in Coventry during WW2 (He was in the Army,his family were all from Wishaw in Scotland) He was out at the pub having a pint with some mates when an air raid started. Being cannae Scotsmen they didn't leave their pint's and took them to the air raid shelter.When he came back to Scotland he had the three tankards and he gave them to his sister,(my grandmother).He was killed later in the war and my gran kept the tankards as a reminder of him.As a boy I used to polish them and when she died my mother gave them to me."
